The pearl of Arabian Sea, Varkala beach is popularly known as “Papanasam beach”, for its curative capabilities. It is believed that a holy dip in the water of Varkala beach can purge all the sins and impurities of the soul and the body. Varkala beach is at a distance of about 51 km north of Thiruvananthapuram city.
