Thrissilery Shiva Temple, one of the ancient temples in the Wayanad district, is believed to be constructed by the Rajas of the medieval times. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is closely associated with the Lord Vishnu temple in Thirunelli. All the rites performed for the deceased ones at Thirunelli temple are considered to be incomplete without a visit to the Thrissilery temple at a distance of 19 km.
