Taliparamba Town

Taliparamba town situated at a distance of 25 km from Kannur town is one of the best tourist destinations in the district with stunning hills, green fields, rivers and numerous religious centres. The Valapattanam river and Kuppam river are two of the best water resources around the town nurturing the human population by satisfying all their water needs. Taliparamba town is quite famous for the mosques, temples and churches that showcase the religious harmony of Kerala land. Among the many, Taliparamba Sree Krishna Temple, Vaidyanatha Temple, St. Mary’s Forane Church, Syed Nagar Mosque etc are the most important ones that attract many tourists. 

The lush green fields dotted with the tile-roofed houses in between adds up to the charm of Taliparamba. Once it was the greatest commercial spot that facilitated the trade of the mountain spices. The origin of this town is closely connected to the Perinchallor Brahmin Settlements. Over 2000 Brahmin families settled in Taliparamba initially and kept flying away with only 45 families left now. The Agricultural farm set up in 1905 and the hanging bridge at Kuttiyeri and Kooveri is among the best of sites the town has to offer.
