The first wax museum in Kerala, Sunil’s Wax Museum, established in the year 2005, is located in the South Street of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Sunil Kandallor, a famous wax sculptor, is the brain behind the forming of a museum with wax sculptures made by himself till date. The museum is a famous attraction in Trivandrum that ensures a journey of the visitors through the wax effigies.
There are about 31 life-like waxes of different famous personalities sitting, standing, and staring at the visitors. The different personalities include people from different work fields like freedom fighters, great rulers, soldiers, sportsmen, politicians, film stars, etc. Among the wax effigies, the most popular ones are that of Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan, Amitab Bhachan, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru etc.
The wax museum is open from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, where the kids and adults can pay the entrance fee and have a tour among the wax sculptures. It is free for the kids below the age of five.
