Sita Devi Kulam or commonly known as “Devikulam” is believed to be a sacred pilgrim centre with holy waters flowing in. Devikulam is one of the most visited tourist destinations located in Munnar, Idukki. The lake has certain mythologies associated with it, it is believed that Sita Devi, the wife of Lord Rama in our Indian Epic, Ramayana, had taken a bath in this lake. Since then the lake has become a pilgrimage center with the name of the goddess.
Water flowing in the lake is said to have curative powers, many people with skin diseases and other ailments come here to heal in the holy waters of Devikulam lake. The place is also within green hills and valleys and mountains. If the visitors are lucky enough they can see the wild animals coming to the lake for drinking water in this thermal water spring.
