Sarvajanika Gabeshotsavam is actually another term for Vinayaka Chaturti, one of the much-awaited festivals in the Kasargod district. It is a 10-day festival celebrated in Mallikarjuna Temple during the month of September. People of Kasargod district are extremely excited to watch the procession carrying the idol of Lord Ganesha all dressed up with new clothes and flowers from Veera Hanuman Temple to be installed in the Mallikarjuna Temple.
The procession with the idol of Vinayaka (Lord Ganesha) is a colourful and merry event most enjoyed by the devotees who are seen dancing and singing along their way. A lot of dance and musical events are being held at the temple on all festive days. Ladoos and Modaks are the favourite sweet delights of Ganesha, thus are offered by his ardent followers.
