Parikshith Thampuran Museum located in Durbar Road in Ernakulam is one of the famous heritage centres in the district. The museum is also known as Durbar Hall Art Gallery. The gallery has paintings dating back to the 19th century, along with copies of mural paintings, stone, and plaster of Paris sculptures, old coins, weaponry, ammunition and antiques belonging to the Cochin Royal Family. The architecture of the museum is done in typical Kerala style, adding extra elegance to the building.

At present, the museum is owned and well-maintained by the Department of Archaeology. The museum got its present name from the last ruler of the Cochin Royal Family, Rama Varma Parikshith Thampuran.
