Neendakara Port

Neendakara Fishing Harbour, lying at a distance of 9 km from the city of Kollam is the largest fishing port in the nearby region. This large dwelling harbour can accommodate an average of 500 fishing boats at a time.  A large number of sales happen in the port between the fishing community and the customers. Neendakara port is famous among the tourists because of another reason as well, the port is the headquarters of Indo-Norwegian Fisheries Community Project established in the year 1953. The important institutions that come under this fisheries project include the boat building yard at Sakthikulangara, the Fisherman’s training institute, the ice factory and the refrigeration plant.
