Maipady Palace

Maipady Palace is a renowned heritage centre frequently visited by tourists in the Kasargod district. This heritage building is situated 8 km from Kasargod town on the Kasaragod -Perla road. The palace was once the residence of the Kumbala Kings, who had the jurisdiction from Manjeshwar in the North to Chandragiri in the South. The rulers of this Maipady kingdom were also known by the name, “Ramantharasugalu”, which is sort of a hereditary title given to the kings when they ascended the throne of the Maipady kingdom. 

The residence of the royal families always attracts many visitors for the architectural marvels and the ancient belongings of the royal lifestyle that are kept for public display. A walk through the halls, corridor,s and royal chambers makes you feel like royalty yourself like the ancients. The palace is just 3 km away from the village, Madhur, which is famous for its Srimath Anantheshwara Vinayaka Temple. A visit to this heritage setting of our royal kings would take you back to the era when our country was divided into princely states with royal family rulers.
