Kottancheri hills are precisely a group of magnificent hills within the Western Ghats in Kasargod district. It is said that all the hills namely Kottancherry mala, Kumban mala, Pannyar mala and Kanthanpara are in the shape of fort or Kotta, hence the cluster of hills came to be known as Kottancheri hills. For reaching the peak point of the hills you will have to trek around 8 km from Konnakad through the dense canopy of forests rich with biodiversity.
Kottancheri hills are said to be “trekkers paradise” as they can see many animals like wild dogs, deers, pigs and elephants on their trail. Upon reaching the top of the hills one gets the most astonishing bird’s eye view of the entire region down below and the grassy hills up above.
