Pathanamthitta with its dense forests and bewitching rivers is one of the tourist destinations in all Kerala. Coracle rafting or Bowl boating is a new venture that offers the most exciting boat ride of your lifetime. Coracle or bowl boat is actually a bamboo raft made with kallanmula obtained from Mannarappara forest region. Four people are allowed to get on a boat, for the smaller ride or the longer one, depending on the time you want to spend in the sweet waters of Kallayi river experiencing the boat ride and enjoying the forests views, lush greenery etc. You will never get bored of the views and rafting over the waters. You may have to hold tightly to the boat as the rower may get too excited with his rowing skills and might go for adventure spinning you over the waters like a top.
The rafting starts at Mundommozhi and goes further to Thottikayam, Idikallu, Thattathikayam and reach the final destination, Irattayar. Adavi is in the path of becoming the best ecotourism spot in Pathanamthitta with its upcoming projects of a butterfly park, a rehabilitation centre for elephants, trekking trails, tree-top huts, bamboo cottages etc. Hop onto the coracle to enjoy the most mesmerizing boat ride in the midst of natural greenery.
