Malik Deenar Juma Masjid is one of the most ancient Muslim religious centres in the Kasargod district. This mosque situated in Thalankara is said to be 1500 years old, built-in 642 A.D, by the first propagator of the Isalm religion in our country. After the death of Prophet Mohammad, under the leadership of Malik Ibn Deenar, 12 associates came to India to introduce the new religion and set up numerous mosques in and around the state. He got the consent from one of the local rulers, Cheraman Perumal, who was so fond of the traders that he himself converted to Isalm.
This ancient architectural structure is built in typical Kerala style, like the rest of the temples of that era with pagoda-like roofs which is more of a peculiarity of the region. This mosque situated in the outskirts of Kasargod district is very much visited by the devotees and tourists for its ancient history and heritage. The mosque surrounded by greenery and a favourable wet climate is the best place to visit to imbibe a spiritual vibe good for cleansing your aura.
