Kulathupuzha Sastha Temple

Kulathupuzha is a small village in Kollam district with numerous natural attractions. Kulathupuzha river, Kulathupuzha Reserve forest and Kulathupuzha Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the most significant sights. Yet Kulathupuzha is famous for the ancient Sastha temple and an Indo – Swiss Dairy Farm Projects. Kulathupuzha Sastha temple is devoted to Bala Sastha who is widely considered as the avatar of Lord Hariharaputra. The temple is located on the banks of the fresh flowing Kulathupuzha river. 

The most famous festival celebrated in the temple is Vishnu Mahotsavam during the months of April and May. Lots of devotees flood towards the temple during Mahotsavam. The small, serene, ethnic village has everything needed for a perfect religious and tourist visit. Almost all the devotees who go to Sabarimala often stop at Kulathupuzha to offer prayers before Bala Sastha. It is kind of a mandatory visit for the ardent believers.
