Annapoorneswari and Mahishasura Mardini are the two presiding deities of the temple, who are two variant incarnations or forms of Mother Goddess.
Since the temple has two deities of equal prominence, it is named as Randu Moorthy Temple. A beautifully architectured Koothambalam, the temple theatre and a huge Mizhavu, a percussion instrument are other major attractions of the temple. Located on the banks of Sokanasini river the temple attracts many devotees who arrive at the heavenly abode to worship the Goddesses and have a sight of this majestic temple.
