Kadammanitta Devi temple well known for the annual performance of Padayani is one of the ancient temples in South Kerala, in Pathanamthitta district. Thousands of devotees flood into the temple courtyard to witness and enjoy the majestic art form of Padayani- Kadammanitta Padayani- performed every year as part of a ritual. The 10-day-long annual festival is celebrated during the months of April or May. The celebrations begin on the first day of the Malayalam month medam and end on the tenth day.
The triggering vibes, beating drums, roaring and dancing crowd, etc during the Padayani performance is a cheerful vision to witness. All the devotees approach the festival with vibrant enthusiasm and devotion to offer prayers before their favorite Goddess Bhadrakali also known as Maha Bhairavi for her fierce form and appearance.
