Varambetta Mosque is one among the very first Islamic pilgrim centres established in Wayanad district. It is believed to have been built around 300 years ago. The mosque dedicated to a Sufi saint is located near Padinjarekara. 15 km from Kalpetta. The mosque is quite peculiar in its structure and architecture with high influence of the native culture.
The annual festival of the mosque comes in the month of March when almost everyone in Wayanad takes fervour in participating and celebrating the ceremony irrespective of their caste and creed. Maithali Palli and Jama Masjid are the two nearby Muslim pilgrimages near Verambetta Mosque. A visit to this mosque would be exceptional as they take you back to the roots and origins of Islamism in the district and in all State.
