Regional Science Centre & Planetarium

Spread across 4000 square meters of land, with an average of 1200 shows annually, Regional Science Centre & Planetarium situated in the Jafferkhan Colony in Kozhikode district is a real educational paradise for the science enthusiasts. The centre aims at spreading awareness about scientific methods and techniques thereby inducing interest and curiosity among the youngsters for the matters relating to our planet, environment and everyday lives.

There are numerous experiments and models displayed in the gallery with their working principle written out for the visitors for an easy understanding of the scientific phenomena behind everything. This science centre has a dome-shaped planetarium with a seating capacity of 250 people, who can witness the moving of planets and twinkling stars right above their heads. Centre uses the advanced projection system of Carl Zeiss for lighting up the whole room and mesmerizing each and every one of the visitors ranging from star loving kids to objectively minded grownups. 

Science exhibition galleries, 3D theatre, audio-visual auditorium, enormous library and telescope corner for stargazing are some of the other attractions of this science centre. Almost everything shown inside the planetarium demonstrated inside the science exhibitions and displayed within the gallery is so bound to encourage people to think over the matters seen.
