Kakki Reservoir

Kakki reservoir located at a distance of 62 km from Pathanamthitta district is a famous tourist attraction in Kerala. The forest within the reservoir is a visual delight for the visitors as it is rich in greenery and abundant wildlife. Tigers, elephants, deers and monkeys are most commonly found in the forest.

Another significant attraction of the reservoir is the artificial lake created along with the construction of Kakki and Anathode dams. Both the dams are the tributaries of Pamba river, a major Kakki tributary. The dams and the gorgeous lake were built as part of the Sabarigiri Hydroelectric project in the year 1966. Kakki reservoir is located very close to the Western Ghats.
