Meenkunnu Beach is located in a village called Azhikode, 10 km away from Kannur town. The beach is actually an extension of another famous beach in the district, Payyambalam beach. The golden sands, stretching shorelines parallel to the saline cool waters of the Arabian sea, coconut trees etc. forms the natural scenic beauty of the beach. Meenkunnu beach is not so crowded as the rest of the beaches in the region.
It is one of the secluded beaches, where one can spend some quality time alone in peace and tranquillity, as well as with their loved ones. All the visitors like to watch the local fisherfolk preparing boats and ready to barge into the sea cutting edges of the water waves.
